Candy from Honeydukes. This makes a great gift for the Harry Potter fan who couldn’t join you! A chocolate frog will be much appreciated. If you’re buying for yourself, you can enjoy sweet treats with memories attached for weeks after you return home.
Comic Books. These can slip into your carry on bag and take you back to your younger days of comic book reading, plus will be a conversation starter on your coffee table.
A themed hat. You will need a hat on your vacation, why pack one from home when you can buy one while you are there and then have a great, useful souvenir from your recent dream trip!
Lanyard. These are relatively inexpensive and there are so many to choose from, you’re guaranteed to find one for everyone on your souvenir list. You can tell them to pack it when they join you on your next Universal adventure!
Coffee Mug. This is last on my list because it is annoying to lug home… but there is no greater joy than pouring your pre-work-morning-coffee into a fun mug reminding you of your trip.
BONUS: Some drinks (usually alcoholic) come with a plastic cup you can take with you. Some festival cups are light-up and some cups are just themed (ex: tiki themed at Jurassic Park area bar). These make great re-usable gifts/souvenirs to bring home!
Pack small. Some rides will not allow you to bring your backpack or bag onto the ride with you. You will be required to stash it in a provided locker, but they are not large!
Bring a poncho. Even if it doesn’t rain, you may want to use it to go on some rides where you could get wet. A poncho packs smaller than extra clothes!
Wear a lanyard/phone case. You may need your ticket or phone to access a ride (Express Pass folks), or want your phone while you are waiting in line, after the locker area.
Bring a snack. Granola bars have saved many a theme park day.
Sunscreen! You’ll be outside walking or eating, don’t ruin the rest of your vacation on day 1!
Portable phone charger. I like Fuel Rods, because you can swap it in the park for $3. Each rod charges your phone to approximately 100%.
ID and credit card.
Refillable water bottle. A collapsible one is nice for your small bag, or one with a fan attached to save you on those hot hot days!
If you have littles, a change of clothes is great to pack. I usually pack a pair of PJ’s, they pack small and can be used for an in-park emergency or to get cozy for the ride home.
Universal Hollywood - bring a sweater or light jacket, those So Cal nights get chilly! Universal Orlando - summer you won’t need this, but winter can get chilly at night.
Themed apparel/gear. We usually bring our Power Up Bands, Peach crown, Wands, and a Hogwarts robe to feel on-theme in the parks.
